Jetzt ist es leider offiziell , nachdem sich Icon über Monate nicht mehr gemeldet haben hier die offizielle Absage . Ersatz ist aber schon gefunden , Demon haben sich bereiterklärt statt in 2011 schon in 2010 zu spielen .

"Juergen,
First off, please forgive me for the confusion and lack of communication regarding the conformation of final travel plans for ICON to perform at your 2010 Headbangers-Open-Air Festival. From inception the opportunity for our group to travel to Germany and participate as one of the premier bands performing at this year's HOA was an event we were truly looking forward to. Although our actions may appear otherwise do not think for a second the untimely communication was intentional or meant any disrespect, to You, Thomas, The Festival or any of your staff. HOA is known and respected. I consider the invitation a privilege.

Juergen, from the beginning you have been a pleasure to deal with. You have been willing to address and provide the conditions and wherewithal I emphasized we would need for a successful show and assure me none of the negatives the Band had experienced at prior festivals would exist at HOA.

Unfortunately, I must regretfully inform you that due to circumstances beyond the band's control, ICON will not be able to perform at your festival this year. Nobody is more disappointed than we are about this.

In the interest of the Band and others involved such as yourself (Hellion Rds.) it is paramount and our responsibility to do everything in our power to resolve issues that are a detriment to ICON's forward progress. This was the reason for my delay in communication. I assure you none of this misfortune was anticipated or meant to be knowledge with held. We only hoped for a resolution that would put ICON on your stage.
Unfortunately, there is simply not enough time to meet the obligation for the performance.

Again, all of us with ICON truly apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We would have loved to be able to be a part of the festival and were very much looking forward to performing in Germany. Hopefully we will have the opportunity in the future.

Sehr schade! Auf Icon hatte ich mich richtig gefreut! Aber Demon sind auch saugeil, ein sehr guter Ersatz wie ich finde. Aufm KIT haben sie mir sehr gefallen!

Sehr schade. Hab mich auch sehr auf Icon gefreut. Hoffentlich gibt's da mal in Zukunft noch ne Gelegenheit. Demon als Ersatz...na ja, nichts gegen Demon, aber die hat man in den letzten paar Jahren nun auch schon 100 x gesehen. Aber verpflichtet sie wenigstens dazu, mal "Remembrance Day" zu spielen.
